SUMMER RESIDENCY 2026:

Tuqui Mancia

This summer, The Yoga Joint welcomes Tuqui Mancia for our inaugural Summer Residency. Tuqui will be based in Provincetown for three weeks, July 27th – August 16th, teaching, holding space, and sharing her practice with our community.

Unlike a single workshop or guest class, a residency means time — time to build a rhythm with our students, go deeper into technique, and offer a range of experiences you won't find in a one-off visit.

Studio owner Chase met Tuqui on a 50-hour yoga intensive in Peru and immediately knew what a perfect fit her energy and expertise would be for our Provincetown community.

Meet Tuqui

Tuqui Mancia found yoga 16 years ago while navigating grief, and what began as a way to heal soon became a way of life. Today, she is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher and Advanced Rocket Vinyasa instructor whose classes blend Ashtanga, Rocket, and mindful movement, with a focus on handstands, strength training, and breathwork.

She teaches group and private classes, leads workshops and retreats, and loves creating spaces where people can challenge themselves, reconnect, and grow. Her approach encourages students to embrace the process, celebrate progress over perfection, and discover that some of the most meaningful transformations happen both on and off the mat.

ADVANCED YOGA TEACHER

What is Rocket Yoga?

Rocket Yoga is a dynamic, creative evolution of traditional Ashtanga yoga — developed in San Francisco in the 1980s by Larry Schultz, who famously traveled with the Grateful Dead as their personal yoga teacher. Guitarist Bob Weir gave it the name after one class: "Call it The Rocket — because it gets you there faster."

Rooted in the Ashtanga Primary and Intermediate Series, Rocket reimagines the sequence around the joints of the body, making advanced poses accessible to everyone. It moves, it breathes, it plays — and it meets you exactly where you are. No pose is off limits, no practitioner left behind.

The two classes being offered while she's here is rooted in that system, similar to our classic vinyasa. The two are Vinyasa: Hips & Folds and Vinyasa: Backbends & Balance — keep reading below!

Public Classes

Deepen your practice by pairing both offerings throughout the week.

Vinyasa: Hips & Folds and Vinyasa: Backbends & Balance are designed to complement each other — one opens the front body, the other the back, with twists and play in between. They work beautifully as individual classes or paired together for a full, well-rounded experience.

Look for the natural pairs on the schedule: Wednesday 9am flows into Saturday 10am, Saturday 10am pairs with Sunday 12pm, Tuesday and Friday meet at 11am, and Monday and Wednesday align at 12:30pm. Catch both and feel the difference.

We invite you to take full advantage of practicing with Tuqui during her residency. It's a rare and exciting opportunity for our community — and hopefully the first of many.

Private Sessions
Tuqui will also be available for private sessions throughout her time in Provincetown.

Workshop Series

We'll be hosting more in-depth workshops to explore different aspects of the practice. Workshops are a great opportunity to ask questions, go deeper into postures you already visit in every class, and up-level your practice.
